Most "block porn on Chrome" guides are written for desktop, where extensions do the work. Chrome on Android doesn't support extensions, so that entire category of advice is dead on arrival. Here's what you can genuinely do on Android, inside Chrome and below it.
What Chrome itself offers
1. Lock SafeSearch. Go to google.com/safesearch and set Filter. Signed in, it follows your Google account. This cleans search results and thumbnails but does nothing about direct visits. Full steps for Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo: how to lock SafeSearch.
2. Turn off saved passwords and autofill for the sites in question, and clear history so autocomplete stops finishing the URL for you. Small, but it removes the two-keystroke path.
3. Family Link (if someone else manages the device). Google's parental controls can force SafeSearch and block sites in Chrome specifically. For self-management it doesn't apply: you can't be your own Family Link parent.
That's the honest end of the in-Chrome list. Notice what's missing: any way to actually block a porn domain for an adult managing their own phone.
Why browser-level blocking is the wrong layer anyway
Even if Chrome had extensions, browser blocking has a fatal shape: it lives inside one app. Incognito mode disables extensions by default, a second browser takes ninety seconds to install, and every other app on the phone (social apps with built-in webviews included) never sees the filter at all. You'd be guarding one door in a building with forty.
The durable layer is the device's network stack, which every app and every browser mode must pass through.
Blocking below Chrome
Private DNS is the built-in option: point it at a family-filtering resolver and adult domains stop resolving phone-wide, Chrome included. Setup: Private DNS porn blocking. It works, and it reverses silently in five seconds, which is its whole weakness.
